Micronutrient therapy

Micronutrients with analgesic effect
The sulfur-containing amino acid Taurine is known for its pronounced antioxidant properties for its stabilizing and protective effect on nerve membranes. Taurine is of particular importance due to its analgesic effect. This is based on a regulatory effect regarding intracellular calcium homeostasis, which is related to pain perception. In addition, an increase in the acetylcholine content in the brain after taurine administration is reported.

The amino acid L-phenylalanine also has a positive effect on pain perception and improves the mood.
Improve pain
L-tryptophan, an essential amino acid, is converted into the neurotransmitter serotonin in the organism via the intermediate stage 5-hydroxy-tryptophan. A tryptophan deficiency and the resulting reduced serotonin content in the blood serum seems to cause pain syndromes as well as depressive moods and mood swings. By an exogenous supply of L-tryptophan the disturbed neurotransmitter metabolism can be normalised and disturbances can be positively influenced.

The amino acid L-tyrosine directly influences the neurotransmitter process, which explains the effective use of tyrosine and its precursor phenylalanine in pain conditions.
Protect nerve cells
In addition to the generally protective effect of B vitamins on nerve cells, clinical studies have significantly improved the substitution of vitamin B2 and B12 pain conditions.
Modulate pain perception
pyrimidines, such as uridine monophosphate (UMP), play an important role in pain perception. By activating P2 receptors at the pre- and postsynaptic cleft of the neurons, pyrimidines can modulate the sensation of acute and chronic pain. Clinical studies have shown the involvement of UMP in pain perception and the efficiency of pain reduction.
Rheumatic pain reduction
extracts of incense (boswelliaserrata) are used due to their antiphlogistic, corticomimetic and immunomodulating effects especially for pain treatment and accompanying therapy for rheumatic diseases. Especially in cases of inflammatory rheumatism, inflammatory degenerative diseases and intermittent joint inflammations incense has proven itself due to its pharmacologically active ingredients.
