Couperose (spider veins)

Micronutrient therapy

Couperose
Couperosis causes chronic redness of the skin on the nose or cheeks. Reddening of the skin is based on reduced elasticity and increased permeability of the blood vessels. The capillary stasis processes cause the blood vessels to dilate further, leading to new branching and even the formation of new vessels. Besides avoiding vasodilating environmental influences, such as sauna visits, direct sunlight, alcohol and coffee consumption, care should be taken to support the connective tissue structures.
stabilise endothelia
Oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC) from pine bark extract Pycnogenol® as well as grape seeds are increasingly used for the therapeutic treatment of connective tissue weaknesses due to their anti-edematous, antiphlogistic and antioxidative abilities and accompanying therapeutic in the initial phases of venous diseases. OPCs increase capillary blood flow and normalize impaired vascular permeability. They restore the overstretched veins to their normal average and help to reduce fluid accumulation in the tissue.
Strengthen connective tissue
Pycnogenol® also has a high affinity to collagen and elastin, the matrix proteins of the skin and protects them from enzymatic degradation by metalloproteinases. After 6 weeks of oral application, the skin elasticity in women was increased by 9 %.

Vitamin C plays an essential role in collagen formation of the skin and supports normal vascular elasticity.
